What stays in your browser
Your personal bests, osu!/osu!mania keybinds and test settings are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data deletes them. To show the right shop link, the page reads your device's time zone; that also happens only in your browser.
Anonymous usage statistics
We use PostHog (servers in the US) in cookieless mode to see how the tests are used: page views, test results (such as your speed and test mode), clicks on buttons and links, your browser, device type, screen size, time zone and page-speed measurements. No cookies or other identifiers are stored on your device. To count unique visitors, PostHog combines your IP address and browser with a salt that changes every day into a one-way hash; the IP address itself is not stored. We don't record your screen or sessions, and we can't link visits to a name or account.
If you use an ad or tracker blocker, this is usually blocked and the tests work the same.
Feedback
If you use the Feedback button, your message is sent to PostHog together with the page you were on. It's anonymous, so please don't include personal details such as your name or email in it.

Gear suggestions link to Amazon and AliExpress. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, and AliExpress links also earn a commission. No information about you is passed to these shops from this site, but when you click a link, Amazon or AliExpress (and their partners) may set and read cookies or similar technologies on their own sites to credit the referral. Their own privacy policies apply once you are on their sites.
Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted on Netlify, which processes your IP address to deliver the pages and keeps standard server logs. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you open a page.
No sale of data
We don't sell or share your data, show ads that track you, or use it for anything except improving the site.
Your rights and contact
Usage statistics are kept so we can compare how the site is used over time; they can't be traced back to you, because no identifier is stored. If you sent feedback and want it deleted, or have any question about this policy, email contact@keyspersecond.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you can ask what data we hold about you and have it deleted.
